Canadian Paper Connection Inc. (CPC) is actively involved in community programs and
events both locally and nationally. Over the past number of years, we have
committed time and money to support worthwhile causes in the following
organizations:
The Diamond Division is a baseball program for developmentally challenged kids.
Children participating in the Diamond Division are able to enjoy the benefits of
baseball in an athletic environment structured to their abilities. They not only
learn the fundamentals of baseball, but also the importance of teamwork,
sportsmanship and fair play.
CPC came on board in 2007 as the first team sponsor of this newly created
division within the Thornhill Baseball Club. We are extremely proud to be apart
of such a wonderful group.
RMTRC is a non-profit organization that provides therapeutic horseback riding
for mentally and/or physically challenged children and adults.
CPC became a
scholarship donor of Red Mountain Riding Center in 2006. We are extremely proud
to partner with RMTRC and support their efforts to assist individuals with
mental or emotional disabilities.
Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Canada was founded in 1974 by a group of
concerned parents of children with juvenile (type 1) diabetes. They saw a need
for an organization dedicated to finding a cure for this potentially deadly
disease, and felt the way to find a cure for diabetes was through significant
funding of diabetes research. Over the years, JDRF, through its many fundraising
efforts, has contributed over $615 million (CDN) to research projects throughout
the world. Knowledge about diabetes would not be where it is today without the
critical role JDRF has played. Today, JDRF funds more research toward curing
Type 1 diabetes than any other non-profit, non-governmental organization in the
world.
CPC came on board in 2002 as a national sponsor for the first annual JDRF
Sneaker Day and as a national sponsor for the 2003 Walk to Cure Diabetes. We are
very proud and excited to be partnering with the Juvenile Diabetes Research
Foundation in the efforts towards finding a cure.
The Hospital for Sick Children, affectionately called Sick Kids, is one of the
largest pediatric academic health science centers in the world, with an
international reputation for excellence in health care, research, and teaching.
It is a fund raising and granting organization dedicated to the betterment of
the health of children. As a local hospital, Sick Kids meets the basic health
needs of children who live in Toronto. But more than half the patients come from
outside the city; they come from other parts of Canada, and from around the
world. For more than forty years, Sick Kids Hospital has carried out research
which has impacted child health around the world.
CPC proudly supports The Hospital for Sick Children
Foundation and their efforts towards finding cures for various childhood
diseases.
The Starlight Children's Foundation is an international non-profit organization
dedicated to brightening the lives of seriously ill children through wish
granting and other entertainment related activities.
CPC proudly supports this most worthy cause and their
efforts to brighten the lives of sick children and their families.
